Artist Statement

Most of us have experienced changes in our lives that redirect our attention. The experience helps us to refocus on the things that are most important. My experience came in the way of a career ending ATV accident. Up until that day I never really knew how important painting and music was to me. My paintings start with an image that comes from an actual event or something I happen to see. From there I draw from what I see in my mind. Art is my way of expressing how I feel about my personal interest as a whole. I have a sense of release when I catch a vision or a thought and find the ability to get it down on my canvas. My goal is to get the image as clear and recognizable to me as possible. I want to see my painting and have a clear recall of what I was thinking and why. My Medium is Acrylics on canvas. I believe I have much to learn and look forward my thoughts and their translations on future canvases.
